1. Official Vatican Website: Direct from Rome, this is the official website of the Holy See. It includes many major Church documents, including some that apply directly to catechesis, such as the General Directory for Catechesis and Catechesi Tradendae. This site also contains the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church and all of the Documents of the Second Vatican Council.

2. United States Conference of Catholic Bishops: the official website of the bishops of the United States. Some important Church documents are posted here, as are the lectionary readings for each day. This site also includes the entire text of the New American Bible, which is the version of the Bible used in our lectionary.

3. Code of Canon Law: The laws of the Catholic Church are indexed and posted here.

4. Teaching Catholic Kids: This site is full of free resources for catechists, including lesson ideas, reproducibles, and a question and answer section. The site is sponsored by Our Sunday Visitor, a not-for-profit company that is the world’s largest Catholic publisher.

5. CatholicCatechist.org: This site an online community for catechists, free printable lesson plans, and more.

6. National Conference of Catechetical Leadership: One of two national professional organizations for those involved in the ministry of catechesis.

7. National Catholic Education Association: NCEA is the professional organization for Catholic educators. NPCD, a division of NCEA is especially for parish catechetical directors.

8. Saints and Angels Directory: A large online directory of angels and saints. This site includes a nice description of each saint.

9. Godly Play Resources: Montessori-type toys that teach Liturgy, Parables, and Sacred Stories.

10. Liturgy Training Publications: Publishers of the wonderful circular liturgical calendars as well as other popular resources for learning and teaching about liturgy.

11. Our Sunday Visitor Publishing: Lots of great books and parish resources.

12. Generations of Faith: Generations learning together – an innovative form of catechesis that is intergenerational, parish-based, and structured around the events of the Church year.

17. William H. Sadlier, Inc.: Publishers of popular religion programs such as Coming to Faith and We Believe.

18. Harcourt Religion Publishers: Harcourt is publisher of many popular textbook series. They also distribute the Catholic versions of the popular Vacation Bible School programs published by Group, Inc.

19. Benziger/Glencoe/McGraw-Hill: Publishers of the Share the Joy and Christ Jesus, the Way religion programs.
